Green bean stew & spicy chicken wings

Here in Croatia if you have a grandma and you visit her at least once a week, you’ve probably experienced breaking green beans in half with her. My grandma played a big role in my life and I always visited her at least once a week, mostly on Sundays. During those visits I saw her cooking all kinds of dishes, from Mlinci (a type of dry baked pasta that you pour boiling water over and season with sauce from roasted meat..) and roasted duck, homemade noodles and vegetable soup, to all kinds of stews. During those visits there have been countless times when my grandma would buy green beans and we would break them on the balcony of her flat, which she would use to make a delicious stew. She shared the recipe with my mom, and my mom shared the recipe with me, so now I’m sharing it with all of you who are reading my posts.

This recipe isn’t just a recipe for me, it reminds me of all the times my grandma and I used to laugh together, the times she listened to my stories from kindergarten and school, to times I spent with my mom who showed me how to cook every dish she knows. I hope I can transfer the feeling of that joy and happiness with you by sharing this lovely recipe. These spicy chicken wings really go well with the stew and they bring the recipe to a new level. I think that everyone who loves stews and everyone who loves chicken wings will enjoy this dish, so why not give it a try?

The photos are lovely and the recipe for the green beans is something I MUST try! I love the part about you breaking green beans with your grandmother. My own grandchildren have done this with me and I hope that when I’m gone they remember it fondly!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by and it’s something like heavy cream but a little lighter, we have it in our stores here in Croatia πŸ™‚
