Skewers have been used since man started preparing food over the flame. Easiest way to do so was to skewer meat on wooden sticks which were placed over the fire. Not a lot has changed since, people all over the world love kebabs and almost every country in the world has its own skewered dish.
When talking about kebabs, they always remind of barbecuing with family and friends. In my last post Peach Crostata I mentioned picnicking with my family and that’s why I’m sharing this recipe with you today.
The last few summers, before we went to the seaside, me and my family went to the Mrežnica river near the city of Karlovac, a place called Belavići. There you can swim in the river, jump in the water from the waterfall, take a bite in one of the restaurants near the camping ground, sunbathe, play volleyball or badminton and so much more, but mostly relax and have a great time.
By mentioning one of the restaurants I have to say they have, among delicious grilled food, amazingly delicious cheesecake.
We usually always bring our own grill and we make kebabs and I wouldn’t want it any other way. The point is that I wish you have a nice summer, relax and enjoy.. and don’t stop cooking! 🙂
