Everyone has a recipe for chocolate muffins. They are probably the first dessert everyone makes because they are so easy to prepare. They are also my mother’s specialty since she prepared them for every big occasion when I was in kindergarten. My friends loved chocolate muffins and still do, it’s funny how growing up some things always stay the same.
My favourite chocolate is Milka chocolate. When I was a kid my parents used to go shopping in Austria and they would always bring a big box of Milka chocolates from Graz, mostly Milka with hazelnuts – I loved it, the taste of sweet chocolate melting in my mouth leaving tasty hazelnuts. Nowadays we have Milka chocolates with all kinds of toppings, from raisins, nougat, cookies and my favourite with Oreo cookies. That’s why I love using Milka when making cakes, and in this instance love it in muffins. Hope you’ll find time to make this tasty classic and enjoy every bite of this chocolaty paradise of a dessert!
Preparation: 15 min
Cook time: 30 min
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 80 g sugar
- 180 Milka chocolate chips
- 50 g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 100 ml yogurt
- 90 ml milk
- 90 ml vegetable oil
How to
- Preheat the oven to 200Β° C. Butter up a cupcake tray.
- In a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, 140 g of chocolate chips, cocoa powder and baking soda. In a second bowl whisk together 1 egg, yogurt, milk and vegetable oil until combined. Stir it in the flour-chocolate mixture.
- Pour the mixture into the buttered cupcake tray. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the muffins and bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes. Use a toothpick inserted into the center to check if they are baked. Let them cool and serve with a big glass of milk! π
These look delicious! Now, I only have to buy some eggs!
