Hey guys! Do you ever find yourself racking your brain thinking about the side dish you’re going to serve next to a juicy rib eye steak or grilled chicken breast? Well it happens to me more often than I’d care to admit. But there is an easy, delicious and healthy solution if you love grilled vegetables. For me grilled vegetables are a the best option if barbecuing with friends. It’s easy to make, it is healthy compared to other side dishes like fries, and it is very delicious.
Broccoli is one of the healthiest foods in the world and many people don’t eat it as much, but with just some seasoning it can be really delicious. Broccoli is rich in vitamin K, C, B6, B2 and E, chromium, folate and fiber among other healthy nutrients. Asparagus, similar to broccoli, is rich in vitamins A, E, C, K and B6 as well as folate, iron, copper, calcium. So it is very important to grab every chance you get to enjoy these two vegetables.
The smokey taste for me is the reason why I love grilled vegetables so much and just a sprinkle of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic reduction brings it to a new level. I hope you try the recipe and enjoy!
Preparation: 15 min Cook time: 15 min Servings: 4 – 6
Ingredients
- 400 g broccoli
- 400 g asparagus
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 100 ml aceto balsamico
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- salt & pepper to taste
How to
- Start the grill. Splash olive oil over and place broccoli and asparagus on the grill. Grill the vegetables until well done. Season with pressed garlic, salt and pepper.
- In a small sauce pan bring aceto balsamico to a boil. Lower the heat and add 1 teaspoon of honey. Cook until you get a thick reduction.
- Season the grilled vegetables with aceto balsamico reduction.
Ohh I love me some grilled veggies! I love the addition of the honey and balsamic! This sounds delicious, thanks for sharing 😄

When using balsamic reduction it can be to sour for some, it all depends on using the type of balsamic vinegar, so by adding just a tsp of honey it brings out the sweet note complementing the grilled vegetables! 😊
