Chocolate strawberry crepes

In last few years there have popped up quite a few crepe restaurants in Zagreb, serving crepes filled with everything from fruit jams to chocolate. There are also salty crepes with vegetables or meat which make a delicious lunch.

I love making crepes, not just that they’re easy to make, but also love eating them filled with Nutella. Most times I’ve made crepes was at my friends’ houses when we all meet to hang out, it’s just not a party without a delicious dessert.

Some may say that chocolate and strawberries are a match made in heaven and I just may be one of them. So I thought of making chocolate crepes with strawberries and let me tell you I enjoyed every single bite.

Probably mentioned before, but if you haven’t tried there’s no reason not to. Grab a nonstick pan and an apron, invite your friends over and enjoy!

Preparation: 10 min                                  Cook time: 25 min                                  Servings: 2

  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 80 g sugar
  • 150 g strawberries, processed
  • pinch of salt

How to

  1. In a large mixing bowl mix together eggs with a pinch of salt and sugar. While mixing, gradually add flour and milk. Stir in cocoa and rum into the mixture.
  2. Heat a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Add teaspoon of butter to coat. Pour 1 ladle of batter on the center of the pan and spread it evenly. Cook on one side until golden and crispy, then flip. Cook until crispy. Repeat until all batter is used.
  3. In a second bowl stir in together cheese, sugar and processed strawberries. Coat the crepes with strawberry cream.
